With a 64-channel parallel architecture, GEKKO is the only flaw detector offering at the same time conventional UT, standard PAUT, TOFD and real-time Total Focusing Method (TFM). Some procedures require standard UT, others TOFD or PA. GEKKO includes all these techniques.

With the possibility to define nozzle type geometries on-board, the GEKKO can be used for 3-axis encoded nozzle inspections. Sscan images superimposed on the Cross-section overlays of the nozzle are calculated as the operator moves the probes.

The Gekko is the only portable unit compatible with 3-axis scanners making it possible to use with mouse type scanner for very fast scanning of large plates.

> DEFECT SIZING

Small diameter pipe inspection using sizing with corner effect mode (TTT). Both TFM technique and sectorial scan are illustrated. For outside diameter defects, both modes account for the rebound off the inner curved-surface to display a scaled image.

> MAPPING IMPROVEMENT WITH TFM

Corrosion can induce wall thickness and pitting. Challenge is to map fast with high accuracy and high probability of detection.

The GEKKO, associated to 2 axis-scanner, offers the best solution for corrosion mapping.

With TFM, thickness losses and pitting are perfectly detected and quantified with a reduced dead zone, less than 1mm. The corroded profile can be well identified for accurate measurement.
